A dry but windy day at Strathaven saw the best turnout of cars, bikes and tractors to date at this local event. A good turnout of HC guys and gals boosted the numbers to around 40 cars, 6 bikes and 6 tractors. I had been asked at the last minute to help run the vehicle side of the show and then was also asked to be judge (AHHH!!!) so sorry if you thought my choices were wrong but i picked the ones I liked, so well done Tom Parterson with his 1958 Ariel 650 motorbike, John Cochrane with his 1947 Ferguson 35 tractor and especially Tam Prentice who is one of HCs original members whose bright orange 1978 Scimitar SE6 is imaculate! "Well Done All" the organisers even had the vehicles doing a couple of parade laps round the ring which pleased the crowds. Unfortunatly it was too blustery to allow the balloons up for a flight and it was right at the end before the pilots decided to attempt a tethered inflation, with the basket being tied to the front of Hamilton Classics member Glynns series 3 Land Rover 109 (the strong gusts made it still a bit dodgey at times!)thanks to all who made this a great day!see you at Sanquar.
